A little about Inspire Me To…

About the company founder…

I am not a parenting expert, by any means. But I am a mom who loves my three children—Taliana, 6, Lucia, 4, and Frederick, 2—more than anything in the whole, wide world. Like most moms today, I also work outside the home (I have the pleasure of working full time in my family’s business). That means that I am, just like you, busy, busy, busy!

But looking past the hustle and bustle of every day, what’s most important to me is that my children develop good morals and a strong sense of self-worth and self-confidence.

Sometimes the world can seem like a scary place. I want to do my very best job parenting, but I can’t be with my children every minute of every day. And then there are all the differing parenting techniques and trends in child development that I hear about. Wow! This can quickly become overwhelming. I kept asking myself how I could provide a strong foundation for my children and help them grow into a strong sense of self.

How Inspire me to… came about

Through the years, my college friend, our books’ author, and I often talked about the best ways to instill moral values in our children and inspire them to be who they were born to be. Those talks evolved into the idea for children’s books, because, while there are all kinds of new media out there, books remain a constant.

And what if children could do more than listen when their mom, or dad, or grandma, or grandpa read them a story? What if they could do even a little bit more than turn the pages and read the book themselves? What if they could actually be part of the writing process? If they were a contributing writer for the book, wouldn’t that pique their interest and get them even more excited to read?

The Inspire me to… books

Each book teaches an important lesson (for example, about sharing with a brother or a sister; about no matter how small you are, you can still make a difference in this world; or why it’s important to always tell the truth). These are the kinds of lessons I struggle to teach my own children every day. How fun would it be for my Taliana, or Lucia, or Frederick to write themselves as the main character in a book—and to learn an important lesson in the process?

So, Melissa, our author (a mom-to-be); Jerry, our illustrator (a dad); Andrew, our project director (a dad); Valerie, our education consultant (a mom); our entire talented product team (moms and dads and grandmas and grandpas); and I set about to create a series of personalized children’s books that, we hope with all our hearts, will help little ones to develop self-worth and healthy self-confidence.

And the books are only the beginning! We invite parents to read the blog, which will be filled with fantastic curated content, videos, interactive tips, and craft ideas. Coming soon will be eBooks with an app and add-ons.

We are so very excited for this new opportunity! And…we hope you love it as much as we do!
